  1. Steam your pores open over black tea (for oily skin)

The best way to open your pores to enable you to effectively remove excess sebum and dirt is to use steam. Black tea steam, in particular, is most beneficial for acne-ridden and oily skin because not only does it widen the pores but it also has a potent antibacterial and mild antiseptic effect. As a result, using this simple remedy can help you to reduce redness and inflammation as well as normalize sebum production.

In order to use this remedy you simply add a spoonful of black tea leaves to a cup of boiling hot water and let them steep. Once the water cools enough to be bearable to the touch, soak a washcloth in the cup. Squeeze the excess liquid away and lay the cloth over your face for ten minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and repeat the procedure once a week.

If you want to use tea as an aid to natural beauty it is not necessary to apply it to the skin. It’s true that using homemade beauty remedies is on the list of tips to look great without makeup, but using sunscreen is also included in those tips and so is sticking to a healthy diet. That diet should include green tea due to its tremendous antioxidant qualities. Due to the proven positive effects of polyphenols, merely drinking this beverage regularly will reduce inflammation and help improve your skin.

However, you should also be aware that green tea offers some natural UV protection. A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition showed that drinking green tea daily reduces the redness and inflammation caused by exposure to UV radiation. All the same, it is important to bear in mind that to obtain these benefits you need to drink pure green tea brewed according to instructions and with no sugar or other additives.

  1. Make anti-aging green tea cream

Green tea is packed with antioxidants, so it is an effective anti-aging treatment by default. You can enhance this effect by combining it with pomegranate juice and creating a moisturizing natural cream which will nourish your skin and help get rid of the first tiny wrinkles.

To make the cream, combine two ounces of freshly squeezed pomegranate juice with four ounces of properly brewed green tea. Next, add a tablespoon of pure aloe vera gel and half a teaspoon of cornstarch, then mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Put the bowl into a microwave and heat for one minute and stir some more. Transfer the mix into a clean cream container and use every night before bed. Store in the refrigerator to extend shelf life.

  1. Exfoliate your face with a mild green tea & sugar scrub

To enhance the cleansing effect of steaming (recipe 1) you should follow it by applying a scrub and exfoliating your face gently. This particular recipe produces a mild scrub which can be used even for sensitive skin.

Mix crushed green tea from three teabags with a cup of sugar and ½ cup of olive oil. You can also add up to two tablespoons of honey to make the scrub thicker. Store the scrub in a glass jar in the refrigerator.

According to studies, green tea has anti-inflammatory properties which make it an effective treatment for multiple skin conditions. These can be enhanced by mixing it with coffee, another potent source of antioxidants. Creating this simple serum will help deal with redness, breakouts, and other minor imperfections.

Mix in a pan a tablespoon of ground coffee with a tablespoon of green tea leaves. Add four ounces of grapeseed oil, a tablespoon of jojoba oil, and ten drops each of lavender and grapefruit seed essential oils. Heat up the mix and stir constantly for a few minutes (do not allow to boil). Then, pour it into a glass bottle through a coffee filter. Use every night.
